On View: Sally King Benedict
July 29, 2013
When pitcher Cliff Lee signed a five-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011, he and his wife, Kristin, went in search of a pied-à-terre that they would use during baseball season for their family. The couple found a “white box” condo in Rittenhouse Square with panoramic views of the city. “There was some tile and marble,” Kristin recalls, “but we just got rid of it all and started with a clean slate.”
Starting from scratch, and deciding on a color palate for their new apartment, the couple’s designer, Kevin A. Walsh was inspired by the above abstract oil painting by Atlanta artist Sally King Benedict. According to the owners, this work is what inspired the range of colors throughout all the rooms in their residence. Check out the other rooms with lovely shades of purple, green and turquoise below.
Sally King Benedict is an abstract painter. She just recently moved back to Atlanta with her husband and baby after 10 years of living in Charleston.
