2024 Interior Design Trends That Stole The Show

Leaning Into The Power Of Nature

Earthy colors, organic silhouettes and natural materials were all the rage at the High Point Market Spring 2023 show, especially when it came to rattan, cork and wood furnishings for the home. Expect to see warm tones and textures sticking around for a while.

An Embrace Of Mood-Boosting Colors

Saturated colors are in, echoing sentiments expressed at Maison & Objet 2023 and emphasized through 2024 paint color predictions from 24 top designers. From striking purples to neon oranges, these vibrant hues serve as a great focal point and will boost endorphins. Consider a rug or a statement mirror in these bold colors to infuse interest into a space.

Abstract Art Revivals

Traveling across the pond to Focus/23, we reported modern art movements are back in a big way. The trend is characterized by bold shapes, striking color palettes and seamless architectural forms capturing the vivacity of the industrial era. Emulate this vivacious interior design trend at home with edgy furnishings and bright patterns.

Shapes: Downsized Silhouettes

At the High Point Market 2023 fall show, we saw furniture brands debuting collections including charming smaller furniture pieces that are perfect for socializing. Petite pieces are ideal for a boudoir, small seating area, or a city apartment. As any good designer knows, a blend of diverse textures, finishes, styles, and proportions make a space exceptional.

A Stance On Sustainability

While the idea of sustainable design has certainly been on the rise in recent years, makers are now looking to upcylced materials when crafting their latest wares, as seen at Design Miami 2023. In particular, many designers focused on repurposed plastics when creating their vessels, with the idea of turning waste into something beautiful and interesting, as well as rethinking what we can be done with much of the garbage in landfills.
