Mark Your Calendar For The Whitney’s Grand Display Of American, Mexican Artists

Details

Often referred to as Los Tres Grandes, or “The Big Three,” José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Diego Rivera were Mexico’s leading muralists in the first half of the 20th century.

Vida Americana,” a new exhibit at the Whitney Museum of American Art, explores the ways that these artists transformed art-making in the U.S. during a time of cross-cultural exchange often referred to as the “Mexican Vogue.”

Showcased in the Whitney’s largest gallery, “Vida Americana” brings together 200 works by 60 American and Mexican artists. The collection is on view from February 17 to May 17, 2020.
