City dwellers in Chicago no longer have to drive two and a half hours to Destination Kohler in Wisconsin or to the suburbs of Burr Ridge to bliss out at the legendary Kohler Waters Spa. The company opened its second location in Illinois at the new Lincoln Commons development last fall—and the 20,000-square-foot urban spa is as spectacular as you’d expect.
The pièce de résistance is the mosaic hydromassage pool surrounded by a hydrotherapy circuit including a steam room, sauna and cool plunge pool. Twenty-one treatment rooms, a manicure/pedicure room, hair salon, lounge and outdoor patio round out the offerings.
“We understand the power of water’s ability to transform a person, and it is at the core of this spa’s design,” says Tim Andreas, director of architecture and interior design at Kohler Co.
