Co-owners Sally Cardwell and Julie Boxberger and their showroom manager Andy Cardwell are the impressive trio behind A Custom House in Austin, which serves as a creative hub catering to designers and retail customers alike.
At the forefront is a studio offering antique furniture and accessories, custom upholstery and pillows, lamps and lighting, mirrors, art and accessories presented in a showroom setting. Beyond that, design services include furniture and art selection, layouts and installation, as well as wallpaper, paint and custom upholstery.
“We love layering textures and strive for a collected feel with an eye toward proper scale and proportion,” says Cardwell. “We like surprises—but our ultimate goal is for a space to feel comfortable, inviting and serene.”
