While last year’s color, Raspberry Blush, a saturated blend of red, orange and pink, was more focused on sparking joy, Blue Nova and its corresponding color trends palette is calming and enchanting, with its otherworldliness encouraging the idea to explore the extraordinary while also being on the lookout for fun color moments and memories. It shares a similar blue tone with Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2021: Aegean Teal, while embracing a darker starry night blue hue with a red undertone.

The best places to use Blue Nova in a residential space? Magno suggests placing the color in a home office or a study. The beauty of this color is that it’s great to use on any wall and all surfaces, especially on millwork, Magno says. Some other suggestions include putting it on the ceiling, pairing it with a neutral, or just using it in a smaller amount as a focus piece.
