Buckle up for another wave of trendy pink, folks. Paint powerhouse Benjamin Moore just announced its 2020 Color of the Year is First Light.
The ever-so-soft hue kicks off the beginning of the next decade of color trends–and there’s no denying the serene, fresh foot the brand is starting on. “We selected First Light to represent a new dawn of idealism, design and living,” said Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore director of color marketing and development.
First Light follows 2019’s Color of the Year, Metropolitan, a flattering light gray — and is a far departure from 2018’s rich red, Caliente. With the overall wellness trend growing at a head-spinning rate, it’s no surprise that this year’s top pick is subdued, slightly sweet and calming.
Joining First Light on the brand’s 2020 Color Card are other muted shades like Crystaline (a dusty celadon) and Golden Straw (a warm tan-yell0w). Blue Danube, the darkest hue of the collection, mirrors Sherwin-Williams 2020 Color of the Year pick, Naval.
