Benjamin Moore Names Their Much-Awaited Color Of The Year

Details

Every autumn we wait with bated breath for Benjamin Moore’s Color of The Year announcement and, with much speculation leading up to this year’s reveal (Will it be a neutral? Will it be colorful?), we finally have our answer: Aegean Teal.

Considered to fall in the mid-tone category of a blue-meets-green with a touch of gray, the hue is touted for being both versatile—it can really be used in any room—and complex in that it can lean more neutral or colorful depending on its surroundings.

While 2020’s COTY First Light was exactly the calming balm needed for a whirlwind of a year, Aegean Teal will surely prove it can be a flexible force in the home—just as we have learned to adapt to our homes in a whole new way this year.

The Benjamin Moore team looked for inspiration in the small, simple moments that happen in the home, like taking notice of the color of a ceramic mug or the soft hue of a cashmere blanket. The full 2021 palette offers a generally warm offering of  soft yellows, creams, browns, and grays, to name a few.
