So, kick back, relax and plan for an extended stay, because these design-driven destinations feel a lot like home–only better.
Credit for the modern kitchen design in this vast Soho House Istanbul apartment goes to the brand’s in-house design and build team. The fully integrated kitchen and bar open to a dining table that seats up to 10, accommodating both short- and long-term guests with a penchant for cooking and entertaining.
BRASS & BLUE
Designers Tara Mangini and Percy Bright of Jersey Ice Cream Company specified this kitchen within an apartment-like suite in Philadelphia’s Lokal Hotel with simple lines and Shaker-style millwork inspired by its surroundings. The kitchen also pairs light plaster walls with darker bottom cabinets to great effect as a nod to colorways of centuries past. “Design-wise, we took as many cues as we could from the historic neighborhood, one rich in American manufacturing history and beautiful late-19th-century buildings,” explains Bright.
Nothing beats waking up to a hot pot of freshly brewed coffee, especially when your caffeine fix comes with a heavy side of style thanks to the minimalist lines of the S02 Brewer Stand Set by Kinto. The stand’s brass is blasted for a vintage look and appears delicate when paired with the glass pour-over vessel, making even the gloomiest mornings appear brighter.
ON THE MARK
At first glance, one might mistake this chic room for the galley kitchen of an urban pied-a-terre. However, the space–featuring a customizable cabinet system designed by Piero Lissoni for Boffi with black granite countertops and appliances from Gaggenau, Miele and Sub-Zero–is in fact ensconced in one of The Mark‘s Premier Three-Bedroom Suites in New York City. A bright banquette is the cherry on top.
