Launched this week, the resulting collection, Isfahan, is the final installation of New York-based design studio Apparatus’ Act III series of homeware and lighting.
Inspired by the intricate marquetry known as khatam on a jewelry box his grandmother brought with her to the U.S., Apparatus Creative Director Gabriel Hendifar turned to Le Manach, the subsidiary of the legendary French textile house, to help translate the Persian art form to fabric.
Named after an Iranian city with a history as an epicenter for idea exchange between East and West, the collection features three colorways that nod to the area’s rich history: Sand, Persian Blue and Persimmon.
Isfahan is available at Pierre Frey showrooms worldwide a trade price of $224 per yard.
