SF Design Community Honors Bay Area Furniture Bank

On March 16th, Luxe Interiors + Design co-sponsored the Design Heroes Evening Gala which honored the Bay Area Furniture Bank, a leading non-profit confronting furniture poverty. Sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers Ca Peninsula Chapter and the Poliform SF showroom, the gala drew nearly 200 people. The event spotlighted BAFB’s groundbreaking work, honored its late founder, Ray Piontek, and highlighted plans for expansion. Proceeds from the evening will help them recycle and deliver gently used furniture to families in need. Providing stability and dignity for recently housed families, BAFB furnishes up to 120 homes each month. KGO’s Casey Pratt emceed the event. Comments by BAFB Board President Richard Gross and Abode Services’ CEO Louis Chicoine and Luxe Homes Editor Mary Jo Bowling were warmly received. PoliformSF hosted the grand affair at their impeccably designed new headquarters. Dapper guests were treated to a lively auction, entertainment, and exquisite catering.

ASID’s Design Hero Award was presented to Linda Sullivan of Sullivan Design Studio and Joe and Leslie Concilla from DaVinci Marble. BAFB expressed gratitude to businesses, non-profits, and individuals helping support vulnerable families, and conveyed its appreciation to co-sponsors PoliformSF, ASID CA Peninsula, Luxe Interiors & Design, Riggs, Nob Hill Gazette, KGO ABC7, Sullivan Design Studio, and DaVinci Marble.
