Jaimee Rose has been making spaces beautiful since she was young, when she used to work alongside her decorator mother. As an adult, she wedged interior design work into her busy schedule as a journalist, but eventually she decided to make design her full-time gig, telling stories with wallpaper, fabric and furnishings instead of words. Rose believes good design can actually help people live better, and that attention to detail is what results in a comfortable, cohesive end product. She’s putting the finishing touches on Vibrant Skin Bar, slated to open this fall in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood where she lives with her husband, Tyson. The project, with Brimley Development, has lively interiors sure to be “a blast of fun and an Instagram hit.” Her Arizona favorites are as stylish and well appointed as her designs.

The Phoenician: There’s no better autumn evening in the Valley than one spent high up on the veranda of The Phoenician, cuddled up to a fire pit and looking over the city below. Just add wine. The resort was recently remodeled and is happily occupying grande dame status once again.
Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa: The best day: Book a suite at Sanctuary, have a spa morning, do lunch at Elements and spend the rest of the afternoon floating about in that glorious mountainside pool. It’s like finding yourself in a cartoon of what everyone imagines Arizona to be.
EAT
The Henry: It’s the cutest restaurant. I love an inspiring environment, so my restaurant recommendations are heavy on the pretty. Having guacamole and tortilla soup at the bar is a sure way to see all your friends–and to gaze at the beloved Phillip Jeffries wallpaper, which so many of our clients reference.
Ruze Cake House: This is where fashion bloggers go to take photos with that airy white backdrop and famous neon sign–and the macarons are some of Arizona’s best. Lemon and salted caramel are always in supply at our office.
SHOP
Camelback Flowershop: This is so much more than those loose, desert-inspired arrangements. There’s an incredible section stocked with black wood cheeseboards, brass-inlay chef’s knives, striped Turkish towels, and crystals galore. Your shelf styling will be much more successful after a visit.
Bungalow: You will leave with something you didn’t know you had to have: a fab coffee table book, a textured throw pillow–even a new sofa. It’s so layered with finds that you will need to circle three times. I love the soft European bed and bath linens.
PLAY
I love a weekend in Tucson. Check yourself in at Canyon Ranch in the name of self-care. I’ve heard rumors of outdoor activities at both (but such talk sends me running straight back indoors). Slip out for an indulgent lunch at The Dutch Eatery & Refuge–they serve excellent fish and chips. An afternoon shopping adventure at Bon Boutique for white linen dresses and creamy Astier de Villatte dishes will bulk up your overnight bag nicely.
