WHO: Chuck Anderson, the creative director of NoPattern, the graphic design and photography studio he founded at age 18. Since then, he has collaborated with companies such as ESPN and Microsoft and also pulls double duty as the creative director of design at Havas Chicago.
WHAT: Expect a sense of wonderment and surrealist undertones in each photo–plus an urge to try to decipher whether the image is real. Stirring up imaginations, Anderson says, is paramount to everything he does.
WHY: Because Anderson is a true artist who insists when it comes to the right shot, he feels it in his gut. This often translates to vibrant colors juxtaposed with intense darker and black tones.
“I’m lucky to know what I love to do and to sustain my life on it–and to do it in Chicago, an incredible city with humble, hardworking people overflowing with creative energy. The clients, experiences and opportunities I’ve been afforded are all just icing on the cake.”
