“I’m most intrigued by an exhibit when it brings my attention to specific aspects of place. In response to that interest, I started the non-profit For-Site Foundation, which is dedicated to the creation, understanding and presentation of art about place. For-Site is unique in that we achieve our work through partnerships with organizations such as the National Park Service. Our exhibits address the social and natural history of the location where we’re working. We engage artists who can address the backgrounds of these places while prompting the public to ask their own questions, too.” –CHERYL HAINES
