The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago has dramatically reimagined its public spaces and guest rooms. Richard Riveire of Rottet Studio, the architectural firm responsible for the transformation, credits the cityscape as inspiration for the design and notes that his firm conceptualized the city’s trees and flowers into a somewhat surreal yet elegant garden.
“The underlying inspiration for the lobby was to bring an element of surprise and delight to guests as they stepped out of the elevator,” Riveire says. “We wanted their first impression to be grand and welcoming.”
The renovation also included the addition of globally inspired restaurant, Adorn, helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Jonathon Sawyer. The refresh extended beyond the public spaces and into the guest rooms and suites—including the 2,700-square-foot Presidential Suite—so they look as luxe and modern as one would expect of a hotel just steps from the Magnificent Mile.
