On August 10, East Hampton’s Guild Hall will hold its annual summer gala, celebrating the area’s creative culture.

This year’s event kicks off an Ellsworth Kelly solo exhibition. “This modern master spent two productive periods in the Hamptons,” says Phyllis Tuchman, curator of the exhibition.

The show, which is also a nod to the significance of the Hamptons in the larger context of art in the 1960s, reflects the aesthetic of the place at the time, from abstract paintings to drawings of native plants and black-and-white images of local barns.

Exhibition runs August 11, 2018 through October 8, 2018.
