A monumental corner warehouse at Los Angeles’ North Highland Avenue and Romaine Street is now home to Holly Hunt. “We wanted to be a part of the Sycamore District’s creative energy, and shape our space to deliver an experience that inspires and supports the local art and design community,” says president Marc Szafran.
The company tapped architectural firm Johnston Marklee to transform the site. “It was important to engage a firm with Los Angeles roots, as our goal was to authentically capture the spirit of this city,” adds Jo Annah Kornak, SVP and executive creative director of Holly Hunt. “Johnston Marklee is well versed in L.A.’s urban vernacular, which translated beautifully into a design balancing the grit of the existing building with our brand’s modern elegance.”
The new flagship, which consists of two modernist villas within the structure’s double-height concrete shell, will house the company’s furnishings collection, while fabrics, wallcoverings, and rugs will remain on display at their Pacific Design Center showroom.
