“We’ve moved into our new building by architect Kulapat Yantrasast at an exciting moment. Art is exploding downtown, but there are communities who don’t see themselves as part of this process.
We want to give them an opportunity to look at art from their own perspectives. Our mission is to challenge the way we experience the world, ourselves and each other. We do this by showing artists who upend hierarchies of race, class, gender and culture.
Our inaugural exhibit, “Martin Ramirez: His Life in Pictures, Another Interpretation,” (above) illuminates these social concerns: immigration, incarceration, economic volatility and more.”
