Fashion icon Iris Apfel has a new line of accessories out that are, well, just downright fun.
Known for her bold way of dressing (ie. bright colors, exaggerated proportions, thick glasses, and a signature more-is-more approach to jewelry) the accessory queen has collaborated with prestigious French porcelain makers Bernardaud to create 15 statement pieces including necklaces, broaches and rings.
Founded in 1863, Bernardaud has been run by the same family for the past five generations. It was Michel Bernardaud, the current CEO, who met Apfel in the brand’s Paris shop on Rue Royale. After seeing her enthusiasm for the porcelain pieces firsthand, a special cross-Atlantic relationship blossomed.
Apfel believes that the pieces work best layered with one another, which just so happens to falls in line perfectly with her mantra “More is more, and less is a bore.”
