Summer in Arizona may be scorching, but the newly reimagined Eden rooftop bar at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix is decidedly cool. With views of downtown and beyond, Eden delivers a skyline escape and hedonistic playground in equal measure.
Traditional rooftop amenities like the pool and lounge get an elevated treatment with organic finishes, such as stone and wood, as well as a color palette inspired by the landscape—think sand, rose and cactus. Lush plantings provide pops of green in a subtle nod to the desert’s fecundity, while geometric patterns appear in lattices and privacy walls to give Eden the chic style of retro design minus the kitsch.
While the bar is entirely outside, flowing drapes and strategically placed shade create an indoor-outdoor illusion. Cabanas, communal seating and fire pits round out the offerings of a bar where pleasure is the No. 1 priority.
