OBJECTS OF DESIRE

Sleek handmade bowls fashioned from richly colored hard-wearing leather, faceted mirrors that throw dazzling reflections, a bromeliad-shaped vase composed of leather-covered metal petals–all of these and more are part of the Louis Vuitton Les Petits Nomades Collection, an array of diminutive decorative objects for the home commissioned by the French fashion house in collaboration with internationally acclaimed designers Humberto & Fernando Campana, Atelier Oi, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders.

Inspired by Objets Nomades, the evolving line of limited-edition furniture that LV introduced in 2012 and will display at Design Miami in early December, the small-scale collectibles are a way of owning a piece of art history-in-the-making. The Campana Brothers’ Tropicalist Vase (shown above) will appeal to seekers of functional art. Those who prefer pure form can opt for one or all 15 of the individually crafted leather blooms known as Origami Flowers (shown below) created by Swiss design studio Atelier Oi.
