Talking Shop: Meek

Talking Shop With Kelly Meeks

Meek

Lovingly curated by former makeup artist Kelly Meeks, Denver shop Meek (39 W. 11th Ave.) is beloved for its knockout (and totally unique) collection of midcentury-modern-meets-Art-Deco-meets-boho finds.

Expect perfectly faded Persian rugs, piles of European sheepskins, earthy ceramics, vintage denim, chunky woolen sweaters, bold jewelry and plants everywhere, many dangling from macrame holders or tucked into sleek concrete planters.

Meek began as an experimental shop on Instagram, and a devoted following still shops @meekvintage daily to snap up new products. Items from the 1940s to the ’90s are represented–Meeks spends much of her time road-tripping around the country to hunt them down–but the look is cool and cohesive.

“I have a rule I try to live by when sourcing items for the shop,” she says. “If I wouldn’t wear it or put it in my home, I don’t buy it.”
