Luxe Interiors + Design presents “Meet the Maker” with Chicago-based artist Carmen Neely, hosted by Market Editor Sarah Shelton.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Neely dives into the Southern tradition of honoring familial objects and how an appreciation for both the intangible and tangible has carried through into her art. From exploring a piece sparked by heartbreak, to talking about breaking the mold with her abstract pieces, “I’m creating works that are intentionally trying to channel specifics when it comes to my experience and memories,” she says.
