WHO: Originally from Arkansas, this Memphis designer began her career in healthcare design before launching Nubi Interiors in 2012. Having consulted with clients in Canada and 30 U.S. states, Carmeon Hamilton experienced a huge uptick in residential requests this year, leading to a promising crop of whole-home projects in Georgia, Texas and California.

WHAT: “I’m a modernist for sure,” says Hamilton, whose bohemian aesthetic is reflected in an Instagram feed over 80,000 followers strong—filled with midcentury forms, custom artwork, artisan objects and moody hues, plus houseplants galore.

WHY: She loves the good vibes that lush green things bring to a space and is commended as an expert in their care—so much so that in 2019 she published a book, Nubi’s Plant Parenting Guide, still sold as a digital download.

IN HER WORDS: “When I worked in wellness, I intuitively understood something that’s still at the forefront of what I design today: A room should look great, but the whole goal is for end users to feel great in their space.”
