Opened late last year in Phoenix’s pleasantly posh Arcadia neighborhood, Arcadia Public Market is a welcoming spot filled with natural light and an array of stylish vignettes showcasing the most current home and design products. We spoke with owner Kim Anderson to learn more about the chic shopping spot and the uniquely curated goods inside.
Why did you decide to launch the store?
We felt this city was lacking casual, approachable home decor that reflected current design trends emanating from both the east and west coasts. Although Phoenix is close to Los Angeles, we’ve always been a bit isolated in terms of home and lifestyle goods, and we really wanted to provide that up-to-date aesthetic to the Valley.
What makes your shop special?
We have a mix of home furnishings and gifts from emerging artists and designers as well as locally sourced items. Nowhere else in the Valley will you find the same case goods, upholstered furniture, artwork and accessories. Each piece is sourced from travels around the U.S. and abroad. We also offer design services in-house via our Arcadia Design Group.
What’s on the floor right now:
We have upholstered furniture by the likes of Lee Industries and Baker. Many are covered in linen or leather. Case goods are by Currey and Company, Arteriors and Interlude Home. Accessories come from Arteriors, Interlude and Noir. And for those who don’t see what they want, we have a 5,000 square-foot warehouse where we keep additional inventory.
