“I remain excited about two local artists: Dmitri Obergfell and Jaime Carrejo, who showcased their work in the Denver Art Museum’s “Mi Tierra: Contemporary Artists Explore Place” exhibit. Obergfell migrated his “Statues Also Die” series into a statement that creatively embraces his full heritage, while Carrejo made his most ambitious work yet in our galleries. And it got noticed: Robert Ito included it in an article in The New York Times about the best museum installations commenting on President Trump’s proposed wall.”
