In March of 1998, Wes Fraser founded 21st. Century Screens and started business as the exclusive Phantom Screen distributor for Southeast Florida out of a single car garage from a rented property.

In September 1998 Jorge Paulino joined the company as Assistant Operations Manager beginning a great business relationship and friendship. Phantom’s Retractable Screen was a unique new product to South Florida and the business grew fast, so fast that the company moved to their first industrial building in November of that same year. 21st. Century Screens became Phantom’s fastest growing distributor and the most successful retractable screen company in the southeastern United States.

In 1999, we added a line of motorized screens created by a crafsman in Orlando, Florida. This product was so unique and successful that Phantom, MFG purchased his company and took Phantom Executive Motorized Screens to the international market becoming very soon the largest motorized screens supplier in the world.

That same year, Paulino Brothers, Inc., was launched as the Phantom Dealer for Broward, Dade and Monroe counties. Jorge Paulino was the sole operator for the company, selling, installing and servicing all the Phantom products in the three counties. With a passion to provide great service and confident that his clients were acquiring the best retractable screen products in the market, Paulino Brothers set the bar in sales for all subsequent Dealers.

In August 2008, Jorge Paulino returned to 21st Century as General Manager and two years later Paulino Brothers Inc., DBA, American Screen Solutions purchased the Distributorship for Southeast Florida and in September of 2012 secured the Distributorship for the Treasure Coast area. Currently, we are the sole Phantom Distributor for Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Highlands, Okeechobee, Indian River, Brevard and Volusia counties. Roughly 50% of the population of Florida lives in our Distributorship area.

In 2012 we added a line of retractable awnings to our product offering and in 2013 we became a Dealer of Nautilus Hurricane shutters, the world’s most compact rolling shutter system, along with the full line of the prestigious and internationally known brand of interior shades, Hunter Douglas.

American Screen Solutions provides retractable screens for doors & windows and motorized retractable screens for large outdoor openings like patios, terraces and lanais.

We also represent a brand of motorized awnings and offer interior roll down shades.
