At any moment during his workday, Andrew V. Giambertone is likely to be found with a roll of 12-inch tracing paper, a pencil in hand and some classic 1970s’ music on in the background. Thus describes the environment in which some of the most stunning architecture in New York, Florida and beyond is created. The principal of his namesake firm, Andrew V. Giambertone & Associates Architects, Giambertone grew up the son of a contractor. Inspired by his upbringing, he endeavored to master the traditional aesthetic and, in doing so, gained an understanding of the key to successful architecture in any genre—authenticity. Known for the accuracy of their designs, whether in the Normandy Tudor, Shingle or Arts and Crafts style, Giambertone and his team define luxury as “quality materials, used in simple, refined details and craftsmanship, to elicit a unique product that cannot otherwise be created.” Though the firm has been awarded and recognized on more than one occasion, Giambertone points to his team when asked to identify his greatest success. “What I’m most proud of is taking the folks, who have worked so hard alongside me, on this journey,” he says. “I’ve had the support and perseverance of great clients and talented team members.” Applying scale and proportion, along with luxury, detail and craftsmanship, to each project, the AVGA team aims, above all else, to create flow. “There is an innate understanding of circulation, and we find that our homes really work for the families that live there, meeting their needs,” Giambertone says. “We spend a tremendous amount of time refining our plans to ensure their ideal function.”
