“As a community museum, the Riverside Art Museum was formed to address the need for a cultural center in the Inland Empire. Along with exhibitions, we have a program with the Riverside Unified School District to bring art lessons to elementary schools, and we’ve been working with Riverside’s Eastside community and the Latino Network. Our engagement work is extremely rewarding. Plus, it’s an absolute pleasure to work in a Julia Morgan building. It’s a testament to the community that this 1929 structure, a former YWCA, is in such good shape. To celebrate our 50th anniversary here this year, we’ll debut a tribute wall for our pioneering architect who so famously built Hearst Castle.” — DREW OBERJUERGE
