These four California shops and showrooms are worth exploring.
1. Australian rug company Armadillo & Co. launched its first North American showroom in L.A. (8715 Wilshire Blvd.) featuring 18-foot ceilings, exposed brick and custom-hanging racks designed to highlight samples of its all-natural and sustainable products.
2. On the heels of its Manhattan debut, modernist furniture manufacturer Knoll opened its second direct-to-consumer retail venue, Knoll Home Design Shop, above, in the West Hollywood Design District (314 N. Robertson Blvd.).
3. Just a few steps away, Kohler premiered its Kohler Experience Center (8955 W. Beverly Blvd.), where bath and kitchen vignettes let professionals test products and source the company’s catalogue.
4. Celebrating its 15th year in business, luxury stationery store Sugar Paper opened at Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach (3431 Via Oporto, Ste. 105), offering its full line of products and a new same-day monogramming station.
