A new boutique hotel in the heart of Aurora’s Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Innovation Community may have been designed with the needs of a healthcare hub in mind, but its elevated style promises to attract guests from much farther afield. Imagined by Denver’s Tryba Architects and Los Angeles-based firm Avenue Interior Design, The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club captures “the rugged natural beauty of the mountains and the vast open spaces of the plains,” says Denise Pan, Avenue’s director of design and projects.

Guest rooms, suites and extended-stay apartments show off four distinct design themes: “Campus” channels the aesthetics of classic British universities with its parquet wood floors, deep-blue wainscoting and dark-walnut furniture; “Plains” evokes fields of grain with oak floors and a soothing tallgrass wallpaper motif; “Mountain” cozies up in leathers, hides and warm wood tones; and “Garden” offers the delicate touch of tufted headboards and lush layers of botanical patterns.
