When Meg Daly fell and broke both of her arms, what could have been misfortune turned into a happenstance calling in life.

Walking under the Miami Metrorail to and from physical therapy sparked an idea: What if the land below the rail system could be transformed into something beautiful and purposeful?

Daly’s vision is now taking form in the way of The Underline, a 10-mile-long linear park with urban trails for walking and biking, flora and fauna, public parks and living art featuring works from such artists as Bhakti Baxter and Agustina Woodgate.

“Throughout the corridor there will be temporary and permanent public artworks with a focus on pieces that engage community and connect people to the place and each other,” says Daly.
