For this Montecito home by designer Mark J. Williams, the goal was to create a zen space. So, the primary suite’s private outdoor terrace includes a spa and outdoor shower surrounded by slender lady palm and frangipani, making it the perfect outdoor wellness room. “Stuart [Silk] wrapped the house around the site, which gave us the opportunities to create a series of views,” says landscape architect Richard Hartlage, who worked closely with project manager Adrian Coerver on the design. Early on, Hartlage and the owners engaged Nussbaum Group to detail and construct the water feature and landscape. With a backdrop of Lake Washington, this wellness room truly feels like an outdoor sanctuary.
