On The LUXE Connect Podcast, Moniomi Design Revisits Their Refresh Of A 1930s Miami Beach Home Into A Pink Sanctuary
“Pink, feminine and entirely her own,” was how Asha, the homeowner and a longtime client of Ronald Alvarez and Monica Santayana’s, envisioned her new home in Miami Beach. The project, featured in LUXE Interiors + Design Jan/Feb 2026 South Florida issue, was the culmination of 13 years of collaboration and friendship between Asha and the couple behind Moniomi Design. It also happened to be a historic 1930s abode, which only added more layers of fun and challenge for Santayana and Alvarez. In episode 6 of the LUXE Connect Podcast, they join South Florida Homes Editor Jennifer Pfaff Smith to revisit the character-driven, pink-hued transformation of this home.
The homeowner gave a clear direction for the palette: for the first home truly her own after a divorce, she requested pink throughout. The process then, for Santayana and Alvarez, consisted in exploring as many variations of the hues as possible for a layered and visually rich result. Materials like the kitchen’s eye-catching marble and design elements such as window treatments and colored ceilings further enhance the home’s impact and appeal. “Window treatment allows you to almost create another layer of interior architecture if you do it properly,” reflects Santayana in the episode.
Add to that striking silhouettes, geometric patterns that infuse fun and liveliness throughout the home, and a thoughtful rethink of how every space in the house should function, and the result is a home that not only reflects its owner’s personality, but is also a true testament to Moniomi Design’s signature style and design ethos.
Go behind the scenes on this project and learn more about what it means for Alvarez and Santayana to be partners in both life and design in episode 6 of the LUXE Connect Podcast.
