For its 44th edition, the San Francisco Fall Show returns to Fort Mason with a theme of Métallique Chic, celebrating the “enduring allure of metal in all its forms—whether gilded, silvered, burnished, hammered, polished or patinated by time,” says interior designer Suzanne Tucker, show chair for the annual art, antiques and design fair. The common thread “gives exhibitors and designers tremendous creative freedom to interpret glamour, craftsmanship and innovation,” she adds. The event, whose honorary co-chairs are Stellene Volandes and Zac Posen, gets underway with an opening night gala on October 14. In addition to an international group of exhibitors presenting a mix of fine art, antiques, jewelry, furniture, contemporary works and more, the show’s four days—October 15 to 18—include book signings and lectures. The Grand Entry Hall will be transformed once again with vignettes by top designers; tapped this year and working with Schumacher are Christine and John Gachot, Elizabeth Lawrence and Scott J. Sottile, Meg Braff, and Christopher Roy. For her part, Tucker shares that she is “always on the hunt—particularly for pieces with ‘soul,’ objects that tell a story and items that have a sense of permanence.”
