UNDER THE CALIFORNIA SUN
Towering palm trees flank the pool house. Tables, armchairs and chaise lounges by Pavilion offer seating around the generous pool deck, where large Tuuci umbrellas with Sunbrella fabric supply shade from the intense Southern California sun. (Tour the home.)
CLASSIC HOLLYWOOD SPIN
To offset a wall covered with vibrant Mediterranean tiles–a nod to the architecture of the home–interior designer Estee Stanley dressed the outdoor furniture from Summit in black-and-white striped fabric for a classic Hollywood look. (Tour the home.)
UP IN THE MOUNTAINS
The McDowell Mountains provide a majestic backdrop to the pool area and other outdoor living spaces, where terra-cotta tiles in a running bond pattern complement the stucco walls. Lounge chairs and side tables, all from Pavilion, line the patio. (Tour the home.)
PANORAMIC VIEWS
Perched high above Tucson with panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert, it also celebrates natural elements and an inside-out connection in a way that is quintessential western United States. (Tour the home.)
ISLAND VIBES
Landscape architect Daniel Stewart’s design for the gardens makes the most of the Pacific views. The pool, built by Schwarz Pools, includes a raised spa integrated into the water. A palm–one of many giving the property an island feel–and a palapa-like structure provide partial shade. (Tour the home.)
OUTDOOR EXTENSION
A marble wall extends from the living room outside to help define a patio; a 20-foot-wide sliding door system by Fleetwood Windows & Doors further connects the two spaces. Landscape designer Troy Shimp created the concrete flooring that surrounds the pool. (Tour the home.)
LET’S LOUNGE AROUND
“Around the pool, we planted citrus trees in pots, used ground cover and Jasmine Minima to create a carpetlike effect,” says landscape architect Keith Williams of the home’s clean and polished outdoor space. Lounges, side chairs and tables from Janus et Cie maximize seating along the pool deck, which extends from the loggia to the side of the pristine pool. (Tour the home.)
AN OASIS
Landscape architects David and Nancy Roche designed the pool, which was built by Holiday Pool & Water Creations, with a dark interior to maximize the reflection of the trees and sky. Poolside, Schlarb positioned a trio of chaises by Oasiq and, on the opposite side, a curved-wood lounge by Tommy Bahama Home. (Tour the home.)
DREAMY ARIZONA
Adjacent to the pool, architect Douglas Fredrikson created a cabana area, where whimsical pendants by Stan Bitters create light play. The built-in sofa is accented with pillow fabrics by Holly Hunt, Giati and Pindler. Picasso Tile & Stonework did all the tile work, including the flagstone around the pool. The chaise lounges in the water are by Henry Hall Designs. (Tour the home.)
TAKE ME TO PALM BEACH
Whitecraft by Woodard chaises cap the ends of the pool, which was built by Almar/Jackson Pools. Thanks to landscape architect John E. Lang and Jim Leserra of Focal Pointe Landscape, manicured hedges offer a glorious wall of greenery for privacy, and climbing vine breaks up the wall of stucco on the garage and guesthouse. The citrus-hued cushion fabric on the chaises is by Sunbrella. (Tour the home.)
CLEAN CUT
Landscape architect Laura Tyson looked to the residence’s refined aesthetic as inspiration for the landscape design, implementing a classic and soft look with plenty of greenery throughout. Shown here, D.D. Blanchard southern magnolia trees line a fence parallel to the pool. (Tour the home.)
SOUTHAMPTON MAKEOVER
The cabana is situated at the end of the pool to capture the exterior’s longest vista. The draperies–which were custom-made from a Sunbrella fabric–provide a sense of intimacy in the seating area. (Tour the home.)
SURROUNDED BY DESERT
Shaded by an RH umbrella, the compact seating area enjoys views of the pool from a pair of Giati Design chaises. Beyond, the rocky desert landscape rises. (Tour the home.)
OPEN BACKYARD
Landscape architect Jeff Berghoff replaced all the existing decking with Indiana limestone, which he then rimmed with high-end artificial turf for easy maintenance in the backyard. Brown Jordan chaises and yellow drum tables reside near the pool. Closer to the house, the custom concrete tile flooring is by Tabarka Studio. (Tour the home.)
COUNTRY GOLF CLUB
With its forever views of the golf course, pool and melange of palm trees, the back terrace is a study in luxe relaxation. The double chaise by the existing pool is by RH. (Tour the home.)
LITTLE BUNGALOW
Limestone from Bedrosians, installed by V&M Landscaping, rims the pool by Arizona Pool Guy. Twin cabanas boast black-and-white-striped Sunbrella curtains fabricated by Sisters ‘n Stitches. An RH umbrella shades a pair of Crate & Barrel chairs; the chaises topped with canvas outdoor fabric are also from RH. (Tour the home.)
CHILLIN’ BY THE OCEAN SHORE
The existing pool received a stunning makeover courtesy of David Tisherman’s Visuals. New custom-colored mosaic tiles by Sicis sparkle in the sunlight, while boulders placed on the beach add a rough juxtaposition. Liaigre’s Courrier table and Archipel chairs on the terrace are all from Thomas Lavin. (Tour the home.)
IN PLAIN VIEW
The architect removed the entire back wall of the house to make way for a glass wall with custom sliding panels built by Maverick Door and Millwork. RH chaises reside near a pool by Blue Hole Pools. The team, including landscape designer Mark Word, worked to preserve the existing oak tree. On the upper level, bedrooms that face the backyard received new Juliet balconies. (Tour the home.)
