Owner Adrienne Shanahan wanted a white kitchen, and Grove obliged, incorporating Calacatta Carrara marble from Meta Marble & Granite and painting the perimeter cabinets Benjamin Moore’s White Dove. To tie in with more contemporary elements elsewhere, the island cabinetry is crafted of white oak. The pendant above is by Mattaliano, and the range is Wolf. The painting is by Mia Farrington.
In the dining area, a custom cabinet by Mayer Designs floats between the steel beams architect Genevieve Theriault used to give the home a modern edge. Designer Christie Grove selected the Zia Priven light, Mattaliano table and Holly Hunt chairs.
Views of Mount Rainier and Husky Stadium are the focal points of the primary bedroom, so Grove kept window treatments simple, choosing gauzy Coraggio sheers. She dressed the bed in Matouk linens. The artwork is by Jacqueline Will.
The extensive makeover added a second story, creating a double-height front entry flanked by Holly Hunt lanterns. Landscape architect Tim Moshier planted European hornbeam trees that shelter an outdoor seating area.
