Set within a 13,000-square-foot estate in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, aspire design and home unveils The Art of the Home, a transformational designer showhouse exploring how contemporary art and design intersect in domestic spaces. “This project brings the energy of an international art fair into a private home,” says Amy Sneider, Editor-in-Chief of aspire design and home. Curated in partnership with Donald Christiansen, Founder of Chelsea Art Group, each designer’s room is paired with artworks by established and emerging artists. See a selection of standout spaces from the showhouse below.
Explore 8 Striking Spaces At The Art Of The Home
Foyer + Stairwell By Elizabeth Ego
The showhouse's foyer is a reimagined Garden of Eden, where nature and humanity intertwine in striking form. A verdant installation climbs the stairwell, complemented by a Richard Dupont sculpture embodying Eve. “I wanted the space to feel mysterious yet welcoming—like stepping into a hidden garden that’s lush, sensual, and deeply calming all at once,” says designer Elizabeth Ego. It’s a grand entrance, indeed.

Kitchen + Breakfast Nook By Dorka Standard
Open-concept enthusiasts will appreciate the kitchen and breakfast nook envisioned by Dorka Standard. A custom banquette echoes the structure and color of the surrounding cabinetry, creating a seamless connection between the two spaces. Warm light from Visual Comfort & Co. fixtures bathes the room, while a Samad rug adds a touch of visual intrigue. The result is a free-flowing yet cohesive retreat that feels both inviting and refined.

Great Room By Vanessa Deleon
Modern glamour meets natural tranquility in this great room by Vanessa Deleon. Serene yet whimsical, the space balances organic textures with sculptural drama. A neutral palette of creams and warm woods sets the tone, while plush Eichholtz swivel chairs invite relaxation. Across the JF Fabrics–clad walls, a delicate installation of metallic butterflies by Wilsonart adds a touch of movement and magic. Deleon’s thoughtful mix of metals brings refinement and balance, grounding the ethereal atmosphere with quiet sophistication.

The Parlor By Alirio Pirela
Historical and contemporary influences converge in the parlor of the aspire design and home showhouse. Designed by Alirio Pirela, the space pays homage to the Art Deco movement through its clean lines, symmetrical patterns and luxurious materials. Seating by Lee Industries anchors the room, while a rug from Jaipur Rugs adds texture and depth underfoot.

Lower Stairwell, Landing + Gallery By Leyden Lewis
Designer Leyden Lewis creates an otherworldly experience across several interconnected areas of the showhouse. Conceived as a sequence of transitional spaces, the lower stairwell, landing and gallery come alive with captivating artworks layered against a pared-back aesthetic. On the landing, BedRest by Didier William (courtesy of Chelsea Art Group) serves as a striking focal point. The piece encapsulates the showhouse’s ethos: that the fusion of contemporary art and interior design can yield spaces both thoughtful and transcendent.
Bonus: See how Leyden Lewis designed another room for the showhouse using the Wabele Fireplace from Trueform Concrete's Surround Collection as a sculptural centerpiece in the video playlist below.
