Uncover Luxurious Holiday Gifts At These 5 Arizona Design Shops

This season, five design-focused destinations make it easy to get in the holiday gifting spirit.

Arbor Row

Dropping into Arbor Row in DC Ranch feels like a gift unto itself. Located next to the studio of owner Laura Kehoe, it is a jewel box where every turn reveals something enticing—think emerald velvet chairs and stunning coffee table books. Kehoe says all this is intentional. “Unlike anything else in town, the shop blends luxury with livable beauty to help visitors envision what is possible,” she says. This season, Kehoe is stocking giftable accessories that are both playful and one of a kind, like marble and crystal dumbbells, which can spark conversation, and crystal dice that serve as a metaphor for life and fortune. Kehoe also recommends considering gifting an accent table in marble or brass to enrich “those quiet spaces near a chair or bathtub.” And maybe pick up some stocking stuffers while you’re at it; the shop carries candles in a new signature scent, Desert Bloom, which features hints of jade and sweet agave. Before you go, be sure to take a moment to appreciate the signature Christmas tree decked out in crystal and glass.

Feathers Fine Custom Furnishings

If a room has ever demanded a sofa with just the right specifications or drapes of a certain color and fabrication, then chances are you’ve paid a visit to Feathers Fine Custom Furnishings, which has specialized in bespoke furniture and draperies for 30 years. While custom appointments form the backbone of this North Scottsdale business, Feathers also happens to be an inviting destination for holiday shopping. Stroll through the showroom to browse the selection of Global Views accessories, like handcrafted color-blocked pillows with silhouetted faces. “They are very eclectic,” says Claudia Levinson of the Feathers team, “and great for a family or rec room.” Other notable finds include artwork and accessories by John-Richard, a Mississippi-based company that imbues modern designs with traditional Southern elegance. Levinson also recommends NDI faux florals and botanicals or Baobab candles as creative gift options. The last of these, along with a selection of candlesticks, come in gift-ready packaging, making them the perfect hostess gift or holiday present.

Main Dish

If this season has you playing host to more than one soiree, head to Main Dish in Old Town Scottsdale for a dash of holiday magic. “It’s important for the table to reflect your personality,” observes manager Andrea Anttonen. “I often ask clients to bring in a dish they love and still want to use. With a few tweaks, it can be given a whole new look.” Anttonen’s background in interior design means she creates tabletops (and shopping experiences) that feel curated to the individual. It also gives her an edge when it comes to finding the perfect gift. For example, she recommends the cordless Ambientec Xtal lamps, which come in three different models and serve as glittering yet practical upgrades to traditional votive candles. Anttonen also likes gifting Cuore Stone Hearts by Anna New York as well as bud vases and barware gift sets by William Yeoward Crystal—accessories, in other words, that combine the quiet luxury of craftsmanship with a frisson of romance.

Bungalow

You know you’re in the right business when your store name stops being a noun and starts being an adjective. “People come in asking for their home or wardrobe to be ‘bungalow’d,’ ” shares co-owner Linda Criswell. Such seekers are in for a treat. The 12,000-square-foot store stocks furniture, art, clothing and gifts that all bear a “warm, layered, collected and classic” aesthetic. Not sure where to start? Criswell has you covered. “We have gift ideas preselected every year for all ages, so we are prepared when you stop in needing to check someone off your list,” she says. Some top recommendations this season include an oversize coffee table book about Leonardo da Vinci, vintage matchbook art and a mocha sheepskin that is both natural and washable (“We throw these everywhere,” Criswell says). Criswell also likes the shop’s signature lucky horseshoes, which can be hung on a front door or tied onto a book for a memorable gift.

UrbAna and Arcadia Toys

Offering a blend of goods from heritage brands like Vista Alegre porcelain and up-and-coming artisans, UrbAna takes the art of entertaining and gifting seriously. The shop has three Valley locations where you can stock up on party essentials, create a wedding registry or order corporate gifts. But browsing is arguably the most fun, because there’s always something new to discover. Enchanting vignettes, for example, make the idea of hosting a holiday cocktail party sound downright enticing—if only so you can show off a set of new, gold-rimmed coupe glasses. As for gifting, owners Brian and Ana Wells recommend checking out the store’s solid brass ice cream scoop that’s all curves, the statement-in-a-bottle Match crystal spirits decanter, and the Swedish-designed photo album that doubles as a coffee table book, thanks to its muted tones and Scandi simplicity.
