Carbone Miami Dazzles With Interiors By Ken Fulk
One of the most coveted reservations in the 305 is at newcomer Carbone Miami, an outpost of the renowned New York-style Italian eatery with hot spots in New York, Las Vegas and Hong Kong and known for its lauded spicy rigatoni in a dreamy vodka sauce and top-notch service.
For its South Florida outpost in the South of Fifth neighborhood, interior designer Ken Fulk mixed dazzling interior details like Murano sconces and crystal chandeliers, velvety jewel-toned nooks meant for pre-dinner cocktails, leather-upholstered banquettes, damask-adorned walls and Fulk’s own hand-drawn wallpaper.
“Each Carbone is deeply influenced by its locale,” notes Fulk, who custom-designed the furnishings. “In Miami, an opulent city surrounded by water, it is part Venetian palazzo and part grand old Havana.”
