Check In: The Laurel Inn
The Laurel Inn, a Joie de Vivre property in Presidio Heights, California, is looking a little fresher these days, thanks to a recent multimillion-dollar renovation.
Led by designer Oren Bronstein, the remodel gave the hotel a chic, urban apartment appeal, while honoring its 1950s-style heritage. The property features midcentury-inspired furniture, plush fabrics like chenille and velvet and a fireplace in the living room-like lobby–all in a palette of blues and browns with pops of colors, so as not to feel too retro.
“It really has the residential feel of a home, so travelers can have the experience of living like a local San Franciscan,” says general manager Jeffery Durkin.
To that effect, there’s a monthly book club program in partnership with Books Inc., freshly baked cookies from Batter Bakery, and a calendar of weekly events including Wednesday night trivia.
