Portuguese Design Inspires The Look Of This New Boca Raton Showroom

While visiting Portugal, architect Elmar Benavente toured a showroom that left such a lasting impression he was compelled to bring the concept to South Florida. Now open in Boca Raton, Covet House displays the creations of 12 brands, including Boca do Lobo, Luxxu and Brabbu. “What makes Portuguese design truly special is the deep-rooted artisanal tradition, where techniques passed down through generations are applied to contemporary, forward-thinking designs,” says Benavente, founder of BE Design Associates Inc., the firm behind the showroom’s vision. “The attention to detail and use of high-quality natural materials—like stone, metal and wood—set these products apart.” Joining outposts in London, Paris and New York, Boca Raton’s Covet House welcomes guests with a grand spiral staircase that leads into expansive spaces: a living area with sculptural seating arrangements, a dining space showcasing intricate tables and a lighting display where dramatic chandeliers mingle with midcentury modern fixtures. A design lab of samples also offers endless customization options, inviting clients to add a personal touch. “There’s a certain soulfulness in Portuguese craftsmanship that resonates with me,” Benavente says. “It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about storytelling through textures, finishes and intricate detailing.”
