A Major Dallas Home Reno Is All About Refined Accents

Initially consulted for a small project for her clients’ family room, designer Laura Lee Clark Falconer went on to help orchestrate a major renovation of the couple’s Dallas home whose square footage went on to increase by 60 percent over three years.

Architect Robbie Fusch and home builders from Robert Clark & Associates worked in unison to update the facade and work in neoclassical elements — such as groin vaults and period-appropriate millwork — into the residence. The expansion included a mahogany-paneled library, two new garages and two fully operational kitchens.

“The additional kitchen is not only ideal for my husband, who is quite the chef and loves to cook,” says the wife, “but also serves as an excellent catering kitchen during parties and entertaining.”

The designer’s transitional approach to furnishings and accessories successfully merges the couple’s distinct styles, and their impressive modern art collection ties everything together. “The wife is very vivacious, and it was her idea to paint the paneled office walls in lipstick red,” Clark Falconer says.

“Thanks to beautiful architecture, transitional furnishings and incredible artwork, the house now has a sense of elegance and refinement that reflects who they are,” she adds.
