Ethan Allen And Chicago Lifestyle Expert Kelly Larkin Make A Winning Team
Ethan Allen tapped Chicago lifestyle expert Kelly Larkin of Kelly in the City to create a living room-esque vignette that will live in the front window of its Lincoln Park store in 2020. To make this happen, Larkin worked with the brand’s in-house designer using its 3D Room Technology to create a lifelike rendering of the nautical-themed display, scouring hundreds of fabric swatches, finishes, artwork and rug samples to bring it to life.
“I grew up on the East Coast and have always had a deep connection with the ocean, so I’m drawn to blue tones and natural textures,” Larkin says. “Since relocating to Chicago, though, my personal style has evolved. While you won’t see too many overtly coastal pieces in my home anymore, you’ll still see a lot of blue and woven pieces.”
Other essential pieces in her vignette: a chunky cable-knit throw for coziness, a fiddle-leaf fig tree to add greenery, and gold accents for a touch of formality.
This spring, Larkin will also be one of the first designers to create custom pieces for Ethan Allen’s new urban-chic Lucy collection, which will feature upholstered sofas, chairs and ottomans with coordinating rugs, fabrics and accessories
