The parallels between Seattle and Scandinavia just got a little bit stronger. Swedish brand Hästens has opened a new showroom in downtown Bellevue, where the heritage brand showcases their line of beds, accessories and mattresses with their iconic blue check. An official purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden, the brand treats sleep as a luxury affair, handmaking each of their beds in Köping, Sweden, from natural materials like organic cotton, wool, and sustainably sourced horsehair and Swedish pine. “We know the Pacific Northwest is a region that embraces wellness, sustainability and craftsmanship,” says Mark Potvin, partner in the Lyx Group, who are operating the Bellevue showroom. “Hästens beds are designed for those who appreciate all-natural materials, impeccable craftsmanship and understand that a good night’s sleep can transform their well-being,” continues fellow Lyx partner Marcus Avenstam. With Hästens’ in-store Sleep Spa experience, visitors to the showroom can meet with sleep advisers to find the perfect bed, drawing from expertise in the science of alignment and deep knowledge of the brand’s handcrafted construction.
