See Heidi Caillier + Joon Loloi's New Vintage-Inspired Rug Collab

One of the West Coast’s brightest design stars, Heidi Caillier has entered another stratosphere with a new collection of branded home goods. Marking the first designer collaboration for Joon Loloi, sister brand of family-owned Loloi Rugs, the collection was inspired by Caillier’s love of vintage. We caught up with the designer to talk all things textiles.

What made you gravitate toward designing rugs? I love the versatility, texture and warmth rugs bring to a space. My collection is aligned with my belief that the rug should really be the grounding element of a room—the supporting character to the rest of the design story.

Can you share your inspirations? Inspiration came from a variety of references, including flat-weave jutes, Swedish-style rugs and of course the plentiful array of vintage rugs I’ve fallen in love with over the years.

How does this collection reflect your design perspective? I design homes to be timeless, so I wanted a collection that captured that philosophy. The rugs provide the perfect base for rich antique woods, pops of brighter tones, and both large- and small-scale prints. They allow for further creativity within a space.
