The Countdown Is Officially On: Kips Bay Decorator Show House Announces Its Dallas Location
The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is ready to make a splash in Dallas: A French countryside-style estate will serve as the host property of the popular design event’s Texas debut.
Running Sept. 25 through Oct. 25, the show house will be held at a nearly 11,500-square-foot dwelling in the city’s Old Preston Hollow neighborhood. The reveal will see the transformation of the grand two-story retreat–with its dramatic pitched slate roof, lush landscaping, soaring ceilings and winding staircase—by a group of talented designers charged with putting their own twists on their assigned spaces. Participating pros are expected to be announced next month.
Prior to the public walk-through, the staff will double their cleaning and sanitization efforts and provide guests with masks if they do not arrive with their own. Social distancing practices will also be enforced, with this year’s admission tickets being sold at certain dates and times to limit the amount of attendees in the home.
As always, the show house will raise funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, as well as a new local addition: Dwell with Dignity, a Dallas-based non-profit agency dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty.
“With the hardships so many have faced in 2020, we’re more motivated than ever to host the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas, to continue raising critical funding for our kids and community, as well as provide an unforgettable opportunity for the Dallas area,” said Dan Quintero, the executive director of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “We are delighted to welcome visitors from near and far this fall.”
