Lancaster showroom

At the Fall 2025 High Point Market, Lancaster’s showroom offered a welcome pause from the rapid rhythm of launches and trend cycles. The space encouraged a quieter conversation about lineage, making and the enduring value of comfort. Hosted by LUXE Interiors + Design executive director, editorial and brand content, Kathryn Given, the segment unfolds as an intimate dialogue about the brand shaped as much by restraint as by refinement.

Lancaster’s story begins with making. A third-generation craftsman, Bill Lancaster traces the company’s origins to 1986, when he built his first sofa by hand, guided by knowledge passed down through generations. That foundation continues to define the brand today. Solid hardwood frames, eight-way hand-tied construction and meticulous upholstery techniques form the backbone of every piece, underscoring a belief that true luxury is built, not styled.

European textiles, richly grained leathers and domestic mohair are selected for durability as much as beauty, while handcrafted details such as pleated skirts, tailored pillows and subtle embellishments reflect the hand behind the work. Sustainability is woven quietly into the process, from responsibly sourced lumber to recycled metals and certified cushioning. It is not positioned as a trend, but as a natural extension of care and longevity.

In a market driven by constant newness, Lancaster’s presence at High Point feels resolute. The pieces are conceived as modern heirlooms, designed to endure both stylistically and structurally. Here, true luxury is found not in excess, but in the confidence of craftsmanship done well and done with intention.
