Learn To Mix Historic, Modern With This New Book
After more than a decade of crafting interiors in Arizona and beyond, Phoenix designer Dana Lyon of The Refined Group has published her first book showcasing her memorable projects.
Released in December and available through her website, Refined: Design for Living Well captures Lyon’s ability to mix historic and modern elements, an expertise she has honed since launching her firm in 2001. “I wanted to create something that was top quality and put a stake in the ground for re ned interiors that are well thought out but also simple and edited,” she says.
Projects presented in the tome include a farmhouse-inspired kitchen outfitted with iron lanterns, a master bedroom that matches its owners’ wellness sensibility through organic materials, a European-like master bathroom with a freestanding tub on a “carpet” of inlaid tile and a dining room with a marble-topped table that encourages conversation.
“The quest for design for living well begins with our clients,” Lyon says. “We start by asking them what inspires their daily lives and how their home will be utilized. This book showcases years of creating bespoke rooms where we effortlessly combine styles to create simple, sophisticated and timeless interiors.”
