The Scoop On The Hotel Bringing Parisian Charm To Hudson Valley
Hudson Valley has a new destination hotel: Mirbeau Inn & Spa. Located in Rhinebeck—think horse country, but with art galleries—the 50-room estate is set on 2.8 private acres and houses a restaurant helmed by star chef Charlie Palmer.
“We call it a near-urban getaway,” says Linda Dower, who opened Mirbeau last fall with her husband, Gary. “You come here for a few days and feel like you just flew to Europe.” Linda designed the hotel herself, aiming to evoke Parisian charm—think sage green and dusty blue walls, and custom furniture by French Heritage.
But she says the 12,000-square-foot spa, featuring 14 treatment rooms—each with a fireplace—is the true heartbeat of Mirbeau. “We encourage wearing robes throughout the property—just maybe not for dinner,” Dower laughs.
